This is my third shot from the Bournemouth and Poole Rallye Sunseeker 2012.
Car number 35 – a Subaru Impreza WRC. This was driven by Roger Duckworth, and co-driven by Mark Broomfield. They had great success, coming first place in the Rallye Sunseeker 2012 National event, making this the fourth time Roger Duckworth has won.

My first post for 2012 (yes, it has taken me a while, I know). This is from the Bournemouth and Poole Rallye Sunseeker 2012 – always a fun day out.
This is car number 26, the little Renault Twingo R2 of Chris Ingram and Joe Cruttenden.

As we are now entering the final days of Movember 2011, I thought I’d post my effort this year. Taken just over a week ago, it has got a little bushier now, and will be ripe for the big shave off in a few days time.
Thanks to all who have donated to our little team at work, and to other Mo Bros across the globe. It’s all for a good cause, with a little bit of fun added for good measure.

Paperweight abstract number three. Lots of bubbles in this one, almost seeming to float upwards to the surface. Which of course they’re not, as they are encased in glass. But, the impression is there, or the expectation at least.
A small amount of Photoshoppery was undertaken here – the largest bubble, at the top, contains reflections of the radiator below the window sill / the rest of the room in its left side, and next-door’s house (view from outside the window providing the light source) in its right side. Much as I liked seeing these in the original, they were distracting. Hence, I dodged these to brighten them, leaving simpler highlights (look closely, and you can just about make them out though). I’m still not sure I like the large expanse of white highlight this has resulted in on the right side of the bubble, but this has definitely helped the image overall.

This, the second of the paperweight images, reminds me of neon signs. Again, “The Book of Bunny Suicides” provided the orange reflection, the blue is the actual paperweight colour, and the black background is from a sock used to rest the paperweight on and keep it at the desired angle. Technical stuff!

Another small series of abstract macros coming up – the result of a very windy / rainy / sunny / couldn’t-make-up-its-mind kind of day. I got the trusty, old macro lens out and had a play with a glass paperweight, on a window sill, during a brief spell where the sun did decide to shine, using this as the only light source.
The paperweight itself is blue / transparent, and the orange glow was provided by a book (“The Book of Bunny Suicides” – sick and twisted, but hilarious) positioned behind so as to reflect the sunlight. You can clearly see the texture of the surface of the glass in this one, giving an impression of movement, hence the title.

Austyn Brown again, lead guitarist of The Alibi. As with the last post, this was taken at the recent Dorset Plane Pull 2011. Just Austyn and his Gibson this time though.

Sean Matthews and Austyn Brown from The Alibi, givin’ it some. Taken at the recent Dorset Plane Pull 2011 – a great local charity event. Fun was had by all, with large amounts of money raised for some well deserving charities.

Looking back, I’ve got another couple of shots of similar, perennial Geraniums posted in 2007 and 2008 (the former of which, on viewing now, I realise I should have cleaned up a bit before the shot, or after in post-production – maybe I will soon…). Nevertheless, here’s another, perhaps more graphic / vivid shot. Possibly from the same plant, but definitely from the same garden. When the sun is out, and the petals sparkle like this, I can’t help myself.
